While doing so, Nightwing meets Harold for the first time and he shows them his latest creation. Meanwhile, Jean Paul continues on his rampage. Bruce, too, continues on his journey back, taking on a number of ninjas. Heartfelt line from Dick when he comments that the cave doesn't feel like home anymore. Dick holds his own until the end but is injured and Jean Paul escapes. Batman is alive, collects Robin and they head off in another direction. Sadly, in the rest of the series they don't cover when Dick finds out that Bruce is alive (for he believes he has been killed) or Bruce finding out that Nightwing has been beaten to a pulp. Other great lines: Batman - "He wont. He's obsessed." Nightwing - "Well, you're the expert." Tim goes undercover and is captured by Lock-Up. |

700 | Aug 1996 | "Legacy Part 1 - Progeny of the Demon". (Nightwing) Batman, Nightwing and Robin track down the origin of the virus to Ra's al Ghul. Ghul's thugs open fire on them and Nightwing is hit and separated from his partners. Nightwing faces Ghul but in his weakened state is no match. Batman shows up but Ra's escapes. Batman follows yelling out to Nightwing... "Don't move, Nightwing. We'll be back." Nightwing - "Sure... don't worry about me. I'm just gonna lie down for a minute." Ubu is revealed to be Bane and Nightwing has to climb the well to get free. Nice touching scene when Batman spots him. Batman - "You shouldn't have made that climb, son." Son. Yep, nice touch. As Batman and Nightwing swing around the city checking on things, they have a heart to heart. Nightwing tells Batman the he's thinking of becoming a cop in Bludhaven something Batman doesn't like the idea of.Batman makes an interesting admissions... "I was arrogant to think I could turn him (Jason) into you." Batman always states that he thinks Dick is better than he is because Nightwing is an extension of himself not a masquerade... as Bruce Wayne is for him. |

728 | Jan 1999 | "Road to No Man's Land - Fight or Flight: Part 2." (Nightwing) Nightwing and Robin continue to do battle to try and bring things under control in Gotham. Nice scene where Nightwing loses his temper when he things a thug has injured Robin. Jim Gordan is basically told he's a failure. |
729 | Feb 1999 | "Road to No Man's Land - Fight or Flight: Part 3." (Nightwing) Nightwing is captured by Gearhead... a man machine... who is after Batman. He gives Robin 30 minutes to send Batman or Nightwing is dead. With a little initiative, Robin rescues Nightwing himself. Great lines: Gearhead - "You're more of a wit htan you mentor." Nightwing - "But he tells a mean knock-knock joke." When Nightwing and Robin return to the Manor they find it has collapsed into the cave. |

Good Intentions" (Nightwing) Batman and his costumed allies, along with the Gotham City Police Department, have herded the criminal element of Gotham City into a stadium in Robinson Park. Here, Batman plans to use Orpheus to unite them all under a benevolent head. Following an explosion, causing numerous police casualties Commissioner Akins orders the police to shoot to kill when faced by anyone in a mask.
